Eleven years ago today, I got the best promotion ever - to the position of "Mommy"! Ryan has been under the weather since last week with the bad cough & cold that has worked it's way through our house, so we had to reschedule his birthday sleepover that he was looking forward to on Saturday, but I reminded him how nice it will be to have another birthday celebration to look forward to! :)
Here is his birthday card, using Enjoy the Ride. I "borrowed" an idea from a brilliant card by Erin Lincoln to add that cute little doggie driver from Tiny Treats: Valentines! I definitely plan to use that again. I colored the card and dog with Copics, and used a Mat Stack 4 and MS4 Layerz in Lemon Tart and Spring Rain, and then put them on a Canyon Clay panel that was impressed with the By The Numbers plate. The car is popped up with foam adhesive.
The bottom part of the front panel is stamped with BB: Circles. I added the Tiny Tag, twine and button, and the sentiment, also from Enjoy the Ride, on a banner. After I took these photos, I added some diamond glaze to the headlights - a subtle but nice effect.
And here is the birthday boy this morning! He's feeling lousy still, but managed to humor me with a smile for the picture. The lighting was terrible though and the flash didn't help, lol.

Love the doggie driver! Your card is great in every detail! I hope Ryan is feeling much better and has a wonderful birthday! You are a brave woman to have an eleven year old's sleepover! (At least it's not girls!!!)
Love this card. Those colors really complement each other. You did an excellent job on the circles. I am sure that diamond glaze is perfect for the headlights.
Happy Birthday to to son.
Love the dog in the window and the tiny tag.
Happy Birthday to your son!
Such a great card, Debbie! I love the little dog driving the car!
Aww what a lovely card for your little boy. I hope he feels better soon but he is surely on the mend now with some sunshine in his heart! Take care, the both of you! :) x
Super cute card. I love the dog driving! I have one where I put an owl driving, since my DD loves owls. Hope your son is feeling better soon, and has a wonderful birthday.
I love, love, love this card. Debbie your cards are always fabulous and make me smile. I love all of your detils and colours. My best promotion was 17 years ago this Thursday and my son got his drivers license last week, so I may pull out Enjoy the Ride for his card. Thanks for the inspiration.
Oh I'm late on this one, but happy birthday to your sweet boy! My sweet blessing turned 23 on the 9 th of January also. He is my baby. Love your card and the inspiration it will give me because I recently bought this set, Joyce uses it a lot, and I had to have it. I did use this bug for my sons card too. TFS
I had trouble picking out a card to leave a comment on Debbie, there's some real stunners on your blog! I settled on this cute one though. :o) Just love the bright colours and the fun design!
Thanks so much for your kind words left on my blog! *hugs*
