a sure sign of spring

OK, I have to say it... this is one of my favorite pages! I was itching to get my hands on this Pink Paislee Spring Fling from the time I first saw it!

Journaling:
The first swing-jump of the season! 4-1-08

still a fave

Here's a fun Allyscraps page! Love the American Crafts Kids papers and embellies! How stinkin' cute are those little chipboard elephants? This page is based on my sketch that is posted on the forum - check out the challenge for a chance to be entered in the April $10 gift certificate drawing!

Journaling:
Ever since you were old enough to have an opinion, the elephants have been one of your favorite animals at the zoo. Sometimes I think you would be perfectly happy to simply spend the entire day just watching them. They are one of my favorites too. Such
gentle giants, and always hanging out together as a happy family. 3.30.08

an inquiring mind

I was so honored when Tammy at The Scraproom invited me to be the Guest Designer for April! The kit was great fun to work with. I had the idea for this page about some of the funny questions that Tyler asks (yes, all of those are his actual questions!) for a while, and the American Crafts Kids line in the April kit was perfect, especially with the chipboard "speech bubbles"! I did some playing in Photoshop for some cool text effects in the journaling here.

Journaling:
what do hubcaps do?
why do windows have 2 sides?
why does the earth have to be so big?
why is this the way to Penn State?
why do UPS trucks have their windshield wipers attached at the TOP of their windshield?
...a few of the things that Tyler needs to know, winter 2008

wildlife show

Scenic Route Grafton from The Scraproom's April kit!

Journaling:
The Frachioni’s have a beautiful new house, and just look at the amazing view outside their back windows! All of the kids – and the grownups, too – got a real kick out of watching the impromptu wildlife show.

game on

I've been waiting for just the right paper to come along to work with these mini-golf pictures from last summer. It turned out to be the Scenic Route Grafton in TSR's April kit! I also used the "happy circle" stamp that I designed which won the Stamp Designer Diva contest, and was the add-on stamp kit last October!

Journaling:
Tyler's first experience with mini-golf was at South Park, and he certainly developed an effective technique! His motto seemed to be, "if at first you don't succeed... pick up your ball and drop it into the whole!" It worked every time! OK, so it isn't quite "regulation play", but he had a great time, playing his own, unique way!

sweet Maggie

I "borrowed" our sweet friend Maggie for a picture to go with this sweet SEI line from The Scraproom's April kit! She was somewhat reluctantly cooperative... LOL!

Journaling:
Maggie, it took a while to get that pretty smile out of you. But look at how your beautiful sweetness comes shining through!

7th birthday bash

The Cosmo Cricket "Get Happy" line from TSR's April kit was perfect for this spread of pics from Ryan's 7th birthday party!
The journaling circle at the bottom is from the add-on stamp kit, and the text says "Date: 1-15-08", "Details: Ryan's 7th birthday party at Kid Company." The journaling stamp for the small captions are also from the kit!

future engineer

OK, if you peruse my gallery you know that bright, bold colors are usually SO not my thing! But what can I say.... I think I can love just about anything that American Crafts makes, and these Celebration II papers worked SO WELL for this tinkertoy page! All of it is available at Allyscraps, and you can also check out my Scrappy Challenge there for a chance to win a $10 gift certificate!

Journaling:
It doesn’t matter whether it’s Lego’s, Thomas the Tank Engine track, Tinkertoys, or some other building material – you always take pride in your work! You pulled out the instructions that came with the Tinkertoys and decided that you wanted to build the huge Ferris Wheel that was pictured. Carefully studying the diagrams, you put each part together step by step. Only occasionally did you become frustrated or ask for help – but mostly, this was all your own doing! Maybe you will grow up to be an engineer, just like Daddy… or, perhaps, own your own amusement park!

you are his hero

Gotta love Fancy Pants! What a great, boyish line - perfect for any boy pics, and I loved it for this picture of hubby holding our little guy. The rub-ons really added a lot, too! It's all available at Allyscraps.com! You can also see the sketch for this page in the gallery there, and check out the Sketch Spot for a chance to win a $10 gift certificate!

the power of love

That's right - it's the new Cosmo Cricket "Cogsmo" line, featured in April's Spice Kit from Scrapdango! These papers are so much fun!
The journaling/quote is cut from the patterned paper "strips", and I also added the Cogsmo rub-ons. Both of these are available as part of the add-on.
This page is based on my April Sketch, available in the Scrapdango Gallery!

a couple of cards with Scrapdango's April kit

The "make my heart go whirrr" is based on a scraplift of Carrie's card design, Scrapdango owner. The "happy birthday" is based on a sketch I created.

the robot who slam dunks

This kit worked great for these pics of the boys playing with an exhibit at the Science Museum last month, where they controlled a basketball-playing robot!

night at the races

Another one from the Scrapdango April Spice kit! This was tricky, but I love how it turned out - I ran the journaling card from the patterned paper through my printer, and computer-printed the journaling on it. I wanted to use the card, but I had more to say than I could write in that amount of space. This worked out great!

Journaling:
The big night! You and Daddy had worked hard on your car. You picked the paint colors, and insisted on the number “42” – for Daddy’s age! We were just hoping you would have fun and maybe win a match or two, but you made a very impressive showing for your first Pinewood Derby and came home with 4 wins out of 6 races. Not only that, but your car took the trophy for the Most Colorful! You were so proud... and so were we!
