watching you grow

This is my page for Morag's ANTS Challenge 7, which was to use a supply in a new or different way. I took the "use a supply in a different way" to a macro level, LOL, and used the gorgeous My Mind's Eye Nightlight line for a non-halloween page! I thought the orange and browns in the paper went great with the colors in Ryan's shirt. To tone down the halloween-i-ness of the papers and also pick up the green in the background of the picture, I mixed in one piece from Fancy Pants All Fall. Then, to complete the challenge on a micro level, I used the round tag from the MME die cut sheet, but instead of using it as a tag I adhered it to a Scenic Route chipboard circle and trimmed the center, to customize my journaling block.

Journaling:
You've always been my cute little boy but now you are growing into a handsome young man right before my eyes.

first day 2008

Oh my gosh, this Fancy Pants All Fall collection is BEYOND gorgeous! I love it all! This is for Trish's color challenge for the ANTS contest at Allyscraps.

I used borders from the rub-on sheet on the mats for the two larger photos. I created the circle embellies for "second grade" and "kindergarten" on the computer, and then added the FP rub ons in the centers.

this is just between them

This is my page for my Week 2 Challenge for Allyscraps Next Top Scrapbooker - Sketch Rewind! Here is the challenge with all the details - and the contest goes on all month long, so there is still time to get in on it! I used my most recent sketch from September 26, since it's based on one of Kary's AWESOME pages and I hadn't actually done a page from it myself! I rotated the sketch 90 degrees to the right.

This My Mind's Eye Brilliant might be just about my favorite new paper! Every pattern in the collection is GORGEOUS, and SO perfect for boy pages but could easily be used for girls as well!

Journaling:
When we chose the name Tyler, we didn’t expect him to go by a nickname. He is always simply “Tyler” to us. His teachers and his classmates call him Tyler. His aunts, uncles, grandparents, and friends call him Tyler. There is only one exception to the all-Tyler-all-the-time rule. To Ryan, on a fairly regular basis, he is simply: Ty. It is something that came about naturally. It always brings a smile to my face, because I know that it is part of their special connection. It is something unique, and it is just between them.

pumpkin guts a-plenty

Our Allyscraps Next Top Scrapbooker month-long contest is already in full swing! There's still plenty of time to get in on it, since all challenges are due by October 28.

This is my page for Kary's Bling it On A.N.T.S. challenge! I'm not usually a bling and glitter scrapper, but I really liked how this turned out! Love these double-sided papers in the Cosmo Cricket "Haunted" collection.

I painted the Stickles on the chipboard letters and also on the brads. I LOVE the effect! Here's a close-up:

so blessed

This is my page for our Allyscraps September DT reveal! This month Dana came up with a "recipe challenge" that we all had to follow:

1 or more photos
2 or more different fonts for your title
3 or more patterned papers
4 or more flowers
5 or more buttons

I used this gorgeous Scenic Route Sonoma and was "testing myself" a bit... I tend to always fill up the page, so I made a deliberate effort to leave a bit of white space this time, LOL! I made the buttons from scrap chipboard, using Kary's tutorial from the blog.

Journaling:
…a husband who is completely devoted to our family.
…two sweet, loving boys who bring delight to every day.
…wonderful friends and a happy home.
I am one lucky girl… so very blessed, indeed.
